Nothing to feel embarrassed about, it's one of the most common roadside calls we get. We bring 2-5 gallons of fresh fuel, put it in your tank, and you're back on the road.

We do not deliver E85 (flex fuel) or aviation fuel. We carry only what is available at standard San Diego gas stations.
We deliver 2-5 gallons, depending on your needs. Two gallons is enough to get most cars 40-60 miles, more than enough to reach the nearest station. If you want a full 5-gallon container, just ask.
$75 service fee + actual cost of fuel at current market price. That is it. The $75 covers dispatch, the driver, the safety container, and delivery. The fuel itself is billed at whatever the pump price is that day, you pay the same per-gallon rate you would pay if you walked to the station yourself.
We do not mark up the fuel. We do not add a "convenience fee" on top of the service fee. We do not charge extra for premium or diesel. The pump price is the pump price.
Example: 3 gallons of regular at $4.89/gallon = $14.67 in fuel + $75 service fee = $89.67 total.
If you drive an EV and run out of charge, we cannot deliver electricity. But we can help.
RJ Towing will flatbed your EV to the nearest charging station. We load your vehicle on a flatbed (all four wheels off the ground, per manufacturer recommendations), and transport to a Level 2 or DC fast charger nearby. In San Diego, ChargePoint, Tesla Supercharger, and Electrify America stations are throughout the county, Kearny Mesa, Mission Valley, UTC, downtown, and Chula Vista all have fast-charging options.

San Diego has pockets where gas stations are sparse, parts of Point Loma near the naval base, sections of Otay Mesa, rural stretches of SR-67 toward Ramona. Visitors, Uber drivers, and delivery drivers get caught here regularly.

Diesel fuel is not available at every station. If you drive a diesel truck, a Sprinter van for work, or a TDI, you know the frustration of passing three stations that do not carry diesel.

We do not throw a gas can in the back of a pickup. Our fuel delivery service uses DOT-approved safety containers designed for transporting gasoline and diesel.
Pull as far to the right shoulder as possible. Turn on hazard lights. Stay in the car with seatbelt on, San Diego freeway shoulders are narrow and cars pass at 65+ mph. Do not walk along the freeway. Call (619) 872-5285, tell us which freeway and nearest exit or mile marker, and stay put.
Turn on hazards and try to coast to a safe spot, parking lot entrance, wide shoulder, or side street. If you cannot coast anywhere, leave the car where it stopped with hazards on. Move to the sidewalk and call us.
All of the above, plus: turn on your dome light so our driver can spot your vehicle. San Diego neighborhoods like Sherman Heights, Encanto, and East Village have limited street lighting in spots, the more visible you are, the faster we find you.
Sounds paranoid, but it is practical. Fuel from an unknown container could be contaminated, old, or the wrong type. Diesel in a gas engine (or vice versa) causes expensive damage. When RJ Towing delivers, we buy fresh from a station pump into a clean, marked container.

Our standard delivery is 2-5 gallons, enough to get you to the nearest gas station where you can fill up completely. We are a rescue service, not a mobile gas station. But 5 gallons will get most vehicles 100+ miles, so you will have plenty to reach a pump.
Yes. We deliver fuel to parking garages, underground lots, and structure parking throughout San Diego. Fashion Valley, Horton Plaza, UCSD parking structures, Petco Park lots, if your car is there and out of gas, we can get to it.
If you (or someone) put diesel in a gas engine or gasoline in a diesel engine, do NOT start the car. Call (619) 872-5285 immediately. We tow your vehicle to a mechanic who can flush the fuel system before damage occurs. Running the engine with wrong fuel destroys injectors, fuel pumps, and catalytic converters.
