- Vehicle make, model, year, and license plate when relevant to the tow
- Payment method (processed through secure third-party processors, we never store full card numbers)
- Insurance information when the tow is covered by a carrier
- Partner portal users: business name, billing address, team member contacts, and tow history
- Website visitors: standard server logs (IP, user agent, pages visited) and, if you consent, basic analytics
How We Use Your Information
- To dispatch the right truck to the right location
- To communicate about your tow (arrival time, price, route)
- To process payment and provide receipts
- To direct-bill your insurance carrier if your tow is covered
- To comply with California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) towing regulations
- To improve dispatch speed and operational quality (aggregate analytics only)
What We Don't Do
- We don't sell your personal information to third parties.
- We don't share your information with marketing companies, data brokers, or analytics firms beyond the minimum needed to run the website.
- We don't target ads to you based on your tow history.
Who We Share With
- Payment processors (Stripe and similar), only the data needed to complete the transaction
- Your insurance carrier, when your policy covers the tow and you've authorized direct billing
- Law enforcement, when legally compelled (e.g., court order, subpoena, or California CPUC inquiry)
- Body shops, dealerships, or repair facilities you specifically direct us to deliver your vehicle to
Your Rights Under California Law (CCPA)
California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell, but you can confirm this in writing)
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights

Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses minimal cookies required for session management and basic analytics. We don't use third-party ad networks or cross-site trackers on the public site. The partner portal uses authentication cookies (necessary for login to work).

- Tow request records: 7 years (required under California commercial record-keeping rules)
- Payment records: 7 years (tax compliance)
- Website analytics: 12 months, anonymized after 30 days
- Partner portal data: retained while account is active + 7 years after termination
Children's Privacy
RJ Towing does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a minor is involved in a tow (e.g., a teen driver), we collect only what's necessary to coordinate with the parent or legal guardian.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy materially, we'll post the new version here with a revised “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we'll also notify partner portal users by email.
