I-15 Long-Commute Vehicle Breakdowns
Many Rancho Bernardo residents commute 30-50 miles each day, to downtown San Diego, to Carlsbad, to UC campus labs, to Qualcomm in Sorrento Valley. That mileage accumulates, and long-commute vehicles accumulate mechanical issues fast. Radiator failures, water pump deaths, alternator failures, and transmission slipping typically announce themselves during the commute. Vehicles fail on I-15 northbound on the approach home or southbound during the morning commute.
If you break down on I-15 near Rancho Bernardo, pull to the right shoulder, turn on hazards, and call (619) 872-5285. Our response via I-15 direct is typically 22-28 minutes. CHP may also respond. We coordinate with them.
